In each topic the author presents relevant techniques without assuming any particular background. Later chapters present theories and applications using various problems in power engineering. Topics covered include fuzzy logic, neural networks, support vector machines, and signal processing.

MATLAB is used to solve numerous examples in the book. Fuzzy Logic Toolbox , Neural Network Toolbox and Signal Processing Toolbox are also briefly mentioned.
