Instrument Control Toolbox 2.9
Supported Hardware - GPIB
The MathWorks supports the GPIB protocol through the Instrument Control Toolbox.
MATLAB is an ideal software environment for communicating with instruments using GPIB, VISA, TCP/IP, or UDP. Instrument Control Toolbox enables MATLAB to control, configure, and transfer data with instrumentation. Once data is in MATLAB, you can analyze and visualize that data using interactive tools and command-line functions for data analysis tasks such as signal processing, statistical analysis, digital filtering, curve fitting, and nonlinear optimization. Data acquisition and analysis work can also be incorporated into GUI-based applications.
GPIB
MATLAB and Simulink support instrument communication via the GPIB (HPIB, IEEE-488) protocol when you use the Instrument Control Toolbox. You may want to download the MATLAB GPIB code example to get started using MATLAB for GPIB communication. A full list of driver limitations is available.
The table below lists the GPIB drivers supported by Instrument Control Toolbox. Information on using Instrument Control Toolbox with VISA is also available.
